What is CoolSculpting® ELITE?
The CoolSculpting® ELITE fat-freezing procedure is the only FDA-cleared,* non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that uses
controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. The results are proven, noticeable,
and lasting—so you’ll look great from every angle.
What should I expect?
On your first visit you will meet with a CoolSculpting® ELITE clinician during a one-on-one consultation. This person will be a medical professional who has specialized training in the CoolSculpting® ELITE procedure.
Your CoolSculpting clinician will take the time to discuss a holistic approach to your goals for reshaping your body. Together, you’ll look at your whole body from different angles—and then focus on specific areas where you want to eliminate fat.
During your treatment, a gel pad and applicator will be applied to the targeted area.
The CoolSculpting applicator delivers controlled cooling to the targeted fat. During your procedure, feel free to read, take advantage of our TV, receive other services, or even take a nap.
How does CoolSculpting® ELITE work?
Years ago, scientists at Harvard University observed that some children who ate popsicles got dimples in their cheeks. The scientists—Dieter Manstein, MD and R. Rox Anderson, MD—realized that the popsicles were freezing and eliminating
small pockets of fat cells. The idea that cold can target fat cells—without damaging the skin or surrounding tissue—was the insight behind Cryolipolysis®, the proven science on which the CoolSculpting® ELITE procedure is based.
The CoolSculpting® ELITE procedure safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. Treated fat cells are then frozen. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you.
Fat cells that are frozen during the CoolSculpting® ELITE procedure gradually die off and leave the body through the body’s natural elimination process. That’s why the results are long-term. The fat is gone for good!

How cold is CoolSculpting® ELITE? Does it hurt?
As the name suggests, the CoolSculpting® ELITE procedure can be a little chilly. Controlled cooling is delivered through the applicator to freeze the targeted fat. Though you may feel intense cold initially, this feeling usually subsides within 5 to 10 minutes as the area numbs. Because most applicators use a vacuum to draw fatty tissue into the applicator cup, you may also feel some pulling, tugging, and/or mild pinching.
After you and your technician select the area(s) to be treated. A gel pad and applicator are applied to the targeted area. Vacuum applicators draw the tissue into the applicator cup. Applicators are secured to the treatment area. All applicators deliver controlled cooling to the targeted fat.
Is there downtime?
The CoolSculpting® ELITE procedure is completely non-surgical, which makes returning to normal activities afterward a typically easy process. Oftentimes, patients even return to work after their CoolSculpting® ELITE treatment is over.
